Umair Dar is a multidimensional artist and a lover and patron of the arts; a self taught guitarist, music composer & producer, He is the founder and vision behind A for Aleph. Since 2012, Umair has been professionally producing music, initially with his former band The D/A Method, and more recently with the improvised art collective, Cosmic Fluid, which he also co-founded. Having been born and brought up in Karachi, Umair left Pakistan in pursuit of his secondary and higher education in his mid teens (2000), ultimately settling and working in London in the Finance industry between 2006 and 2012. A growing sense of disillusionment and disconnection with his career and life choices ultimately led Umair to make the decision to drop everything else and pursue his childhood dreams. A for Aleph opened its doors in 2017 and is the culmination of Umair’s journey in rediscovering himself, through his art, and through his personal spiritual healing journey, and is a place where other artists are facilitated in all respects to find deeper layers of themselves, through their expression. At Aleph, Umair is the primary mixing and mastering engineer and produces all the content that is released from the facility.
