At Aleph, the design philosophy centers on three fundamental elements: connectivity, balanced acoustics, and a reliable electrical system. Each space within Aleph is meticulously arranged to ensure technical cohesion. Our facilities include two tracking studios equipped with top-of-the-line gear such as NEVE and API pre-amps, UAD outboard compressors, and the NEVE 5060. We also boast a diverse array of boutique gear, including an extensive collection of guitars, basses, amplifiers, and pedals, all carefully selected to cater to a wide range of musical styles and recording needs.

When designing the connectivity at Aleph, our goal was to seamlessly integrate all rooms using a variety of connections such as analog, speakON, and Ethernet, while also achieving maximum acoustic isolation. We utilized the highest quality Mogami cables and custom-made snake boxes for all inter-room connections to maintain a pristine recording signal.

Acoustics are a cornerstone of any studio, and Aleph is no exception. One of the key features of our studio is the drum room, towering approximately 35 feet to facilitate the unhindered propagation of low-end frequencies. This design helps engineers capture the full essence of a drum kit. The room includes a mechanically-operated, movable acoustic wall on the x-axis, which adjusts to modify early reflections, thereby giving producers enhanced control over the reverb depth in their recordings. The live room, vast and well-treated acoustically, offers a balanced sound profile and emulates the ambiance of a larger space.

Addressing the frequent electrical issues in Karachi, such as power surges and grounding problems, was crucial in Aleph’s infrastructure design. Our electrical system includes high-efficiency servo motor-based stabilizers and is supported by online UPSs to ensure consistent power and protect against interruptions. The studio’s grounding is meticulously implemented to eliminate any noise in the recordings, and all electrical outlets are of the highest quality, capable of handling the demands of heavy, high-voltage equipment.
